The Trophy Hunter

The Story:

“A grieving nature photographer with a speech impediment is hunted in the woods by a creature that can mimic human voices.”

The Production:

• Principal photography March 13, 2022 - March 20, 2022

• On location in Owensboro, Kentucky area

• Includes some overnight shoots

Jim (lead): Male, 18-22

• Main Character of film, who is an introverted outcast with a speech impediment. An avid nature photographer and previous scout who served as a role model to his younger brother. He mourns his missing younger brother Michael. He briefly knew his father. He takes on a hunting trip to grieve his lost brother and finds a battle with a mysterious murderous monster.

• Minor stunts.

Michael (Co-Lead): Male 6-12

• Child role, a young scout. Afraid of the dark and being alone in the woods. He looks up to his older brother, who is his father figure. He never knew his real father. He plays in a clubhouse he and his brother built with pallets and ingenuity.

Sam (Supporting): Male 23

• Friend of Jim and Clint. Jim and Sam were scouts together as kids. They worked the same jobs, in the same town. Sam is level headed, modern, and a bit of a country hipster. He’s kind to others.

Clint (Supporting): Male 25 - 40

• Good ol’ country boy. Redneck. Comedic foil. Clint is a skilled hunter and rough-around-the-edges American. Clint’s not a bad person, but he doesn’t care to understand those who are different from him.

Carmen Corbett (Supporting): Female 40

• Immigrant mother. Maybe not the best English (depends on performer). Quiet type. She’s had a rough past, but is just beginning to have peace in her life when the movie begins. That’s taken from her when her youngest son, Michael goes missing.

Mr. Beakly (Supporting): Male 40-60

• Scout leader and all around community leader. He knows Jim and Carmen well, as he was Jim’s scout leader when Jim was little. Now he’s Michael’s scout leader.

Auditions are by appointment only, Saturday January 15th or Sunday January 16th, at a location in Owensboro, KY.
